Active Ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains:

Famotidine 10 mg

Indications

Therapeutic group:

Inhibitors of gastric acid secretion of the histamine H2- receptor antagonist type.

Therapeutic activity:

Gastro 10 intended for the prevention and treatment of heartburn and hyperacidity in the upper

gastrointestinal tract.

Instructions

Do not chew! Swallow the medicine with a small amount of water. It is recommended to take

this medicine before bedtime. If you take two doses a day, the first one should be taken in the

morning with a meal.

If needed, the tablets can be crushed.

Recommended dosage unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor:

Adults and children 12 years of age or older:

For the relief of heartburn: 20 mg a day (1 tablet of Gastro 20 or 2 tablets of Gastro 10 a day).

For the prevention of heartburn: Swallow 20 mg (1 tablet of Gastro 20 or 2 tablets of Gastro 10)

with water one hour before eating food or drinking beverages that you expect may cause

heartburn.

Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

This medicine is not usually intended for administration to children and infants. The safety of use

of the medicine in children is yet to be determined.

If you forget to take this medicine at the specified time, take the dose as soon as you remember,

but never take a double dose to compensate for a missed one!

To prevent irritation of the digestive system, it is advisable to avoid drinking caffeine-containing

beverages (coffee, tea, cocoa and cola) or sparkling beverages and eating food that causes you

pain or discomfort (e.g.: citrus fruits).

Warnings

Do not use this medicine if you are sensitive to any of its ingredients or to other medicines from

the same pharmacological group (i.e. cimetidine, ranitidine, nizatidine).

Do not use this medicine if you are breastfeeding.

Do not take this medicine without consulting a doctor before starting treatment: If you are

pregnant or if you are suffering, or have suffered in the past, from impaired function of: the liver,

the kidney/urinary tract, from difficulty swallowing or persistent abdominal pain.

Do not drink wines or alcoholic beverages during treatment with this medicine.

If you are a smoker - inform your doctor before commencing treatment with this medicine.

During treatment with this medicine it is recommended to consult your doctor before taking

aspirin and other pain relievers.
