Loratadim is an antihistamine preparation for treatment of allergic rhinitis and accompanying symptoms such as: sneezing, itching and tearing eyes, as well as for treatment of skin allergies.
Instructions
Do not chew! Swallow the medicine with a small amount of water. If necessary, the tablet can be halved or crushed.
This medicine should be taken half an hour before a meal.
Recommended dosage unless otherwise specified by the doctor:
Adults and children over 6 years of age: One tablet once a day on an empty stomach.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
If you forget to take this medicine at its fixed time, take a dose as soon as you remember; under no circumstances, however, should two doses be taken together!
Warnings
Do not use if you are hypersensitive to one of its ingredients.
Do not use this medicine when you are pregnant or breast- feeding.
Loratadim tablets contain lactose and may cause an allergic reaction in patients sensitive to lactose.
Rarely, use of the medicine may cause drowsiness which can affect the ability to drive and operate machinery.
This medicine is not usually intended for infants and children below the age of 6 years.
Loratadim should not be used without consulting your physician prior to commencing treatment: If you suffer or have suffered in the past from impaired function of the respiratory system (e.g. asthma), the heart and/or blood vessels, the liver, the kidneys.
The drug should be discontinued approximately four days prior to skin sensitivity testing procedures, since antihistamines may void or diminish positive reactions to these tests.
If you are taking another drug concomitantly or if you have just finished treatment with another medicine, inform the attending doctor, in order to prevent hazards or lack of efficacy arising from drug interactions.
