Active Ingredients

Each gram of the ointment contains: 250 I.U. retinol palmitate.

Indications

VitA-POS is a sterile, vitamin A-containing eye ointment that improves the tear film and protects the surface of the eye , forming a comfortable long lasting protective film on the eyes.

VitA-POS relieves symptoms of  burning, itching or dry eyes with foreign-body sensation that are often experienced when you stay in air-conditioned rooms, cars or airplanes, wind, cold, strong solar radiation, polluted air or cigarette smoke , when you concentrate your vision (e.g. in prolonged computer and television consumption) or drive at night.

VitA-POS prevents possible trouble with opening the eyes for the first time in the morning.

VitA-POS is a particularly soft and smooth eye ointment which spreads very well on the surface of the eye. The vitamin A contained is a physiological component of the tear film. Thus, good tolerance of the eye ointment is achieved and the ointment mixes well with the present tear film.

The eyelids glide easily over the conjunctiva and the cornea.

Instructions

Eye ointments should generally be used without contact of the tube with the eye or skin.

Remove the protective cap, tilt your head backwards and gently pull on the lower eyelid using a finger of one hand. With the other hand hold the tube in an upright position above the eye. Instill a small strip (approx, 1 cm) of eye ointment into the gap formed between the eye and eyelid by gently squeezing on the tube. Close your eye gently, then blink normally. Replace the cap firmly back onto the tube. To avoid contamination, do not allow the tip of the tube to touch the eye or any other surface. Apply the eye ointment by gently pressing on the tube, without cracking it or rolling it up.

Dosage:

The frequency of application depends on individual complaints and habits. In case of distinct sensation of dry eyes, VitA-POS is usually used three times a day.

The greasy texture of the eye ointment causes a slight impairment of vision. Therefore, it is best recommended to apply VitA-POS before going to sleep.

There is no limitation of the duration of treatment.

VitA-POS should not be used concomitantly with ophthalmic drugs. If necessary, VitA -POS should be applied about 30 minutes after the application of the ophthalmic drug.

The shelf life of VitA-POS is 3 ears.

VitA-POS can be used for 3 months after opening.

Warnings

VitA-POS should not be used when a hypersensitivity to one of its ingredients is known.

VitA-POS must not be used while wearing contact lenses.

If VitA-POS is applied during the day, vision will be impaired because of the greasy texture of the eye ointment. You should not drive a car, take an active part in traffic, use machines or work without secure hold during this time.
